A booklet (Cahier) with visual directions for use. we all know them, those drawings how to open a package of milk, how assembling an ikea cupboard step by step, and having a quarrel over it with your beloved-one, the little paper in the "Kinderschokolade Ei"on which you see/read the instructions how to construct the little plastic toy
I want you to use this form of visual directions for use, but the subejct(s) or theme(s) you choose have to be extraordinary, unusual or strange!
drawn by hand(like a machine) or illustrator

the Do's & Don'ts of the Passportphotodrawingassignment

In the end the works will be pure drawings (so no collages or whatever). You may use different materials, color or black and white.
However you may work up the photos before drawing them; use words or texts, combine more persons in one drawing, use photoshop-filters etc.

!! Your time is limited cause we try to make a nice publication of the drawings, which has to appear at the opening of the exhibition!
You'll get further instructions from Janine Elfert, Bettina Gesink and Svenja Hemke who will design the book.

Exposition of Drawn Portraits

Tekenlab gaat zich presenteren van 20 tot 27 maart in Hal 1 op de AKI.
De kern van de expo wordt een portrettengalerij, waaraan vanaf nu tot de expo gewerkt kan worden.Hiervoor stel ik een verzameling pasfotos van 'onbekende' mensen ter beschikking.Verdere briefing volgt...
En we gaan er een boek van maken.
